  • Yes. If your claim is approved, our installers complete warranty-covered repairs on-site. We’ll contact you to schedule a date. • You’re most likely seeing oil-canning. It’s a cosmetic effect, not a structural problem.

    What is oil-canning?
Visible waviness in the flat areas of metal panels. It shows up as slight ripples that change with light and temperature.

    Why it happens:

    • Normal thermal expansion and contraction

    • Stresses from coil production and roll forming

    • Subtle irregularities in framing or sheathing

    • Over-tightened or uneven fasteners

    • Large flat panel widths, long panel runs, and thinner gauges

    • Dark or glossy colors that highlight reflections

    Does it affect performance?
No. Oil-canning does not reduce strength, weather protection, or longevity. It is cosmetic.

  • Most cases are chemical overspray. Herbicides like Roundup can react with metal coatings, causing corrosion or paint defects along the bottom edge.

Other contributors: residue pooling, fertilizers or ice-melt salts, pet urine, constant moisture or soil contact.

Prevent it: avoid spraying near panels, use a shield, rinse any overspray immediately, keep soil and vegetation a few inches away, maintain good drainage.

Warranty note: chemical damage is environmental and may affect coverage.

Not chemicals? Submit a warranty claim with clear photos so we can review next steps.

  • Installing solar panels, chain hoists, or heavy storage on ceiling trusses, as well as cutting or modifying tubing, will void your manufacturer warranty. If service is still required on a building that has been altered, repairs may be completed at the customer’s expense.
